Busy showrunner pens 'L.A. Woman' for Sony Pictures TV
NBC is back in business with “Justified” boss Graham Yost, who is fielding a 1970s-set drama for the Peacock and Sony Pictures TV.
NBC has given a script order with a penalty to “L.A. Woman,” which revolves around a woman who goes undercover in the seamy side of L.A.’s surf culture in 1971 to find her missing sister. Yost is penning the script and exec producing through his overall deal at Sony.
Yost is keeping busy at FX as the showrunner and exec producer of its upcoming spy drama “The Americans,” also a period piece set in the early 1980s. And “Justified” unspools its fourth season on FX starting in January.
One of the biz’s most sought-after showurnners, Yost was last at NBC in the 2006-07 season with the Jeff Goldblum starrer “Raines.” He also shepherded the Peacock’s critically praised cop show “Boomtown” from 2002-2004.
Yost’s repped by CAA.
