FremantleMedia boosts scripted with Hines

Exec beefs up growing department

FremantleMedia North America has named Holly Hines vice president of scripted development, reporting to senior veep of scripted programming Tony Optican.

The company is making a bigger foray into scripted programming, highlighted by the premiere later this year of its first hourlong scripted skein, TBS’ “The Wedding Band,” starring Brian Austin Green, Harold Perrineau and Melora Hardin.

Hines had been serving as director of development and original series for Fuse and has previously been manager of development at TLC and Bull’s Eye Entertainment and a development exec at Reveille.

“Holly is a terrific addition to the team as we further increase our presence in scripted development and production for the domestic as well as global marketplace,” Optican said. “With our stable of scripted projects continuing to grow, Holly’s great instincts for strong material combined with her extensive industry relationships make her ideally suited for this role.”
