Red Arrow sells cooking competish format

LONDON — French commercial TV network M6 has picked up reality cooking skein format “The Taste” from Red Arrow Intl. for local production.

“The Taste,” which was created by Red Arrow’s U.S. production company Kinetic Content, is a competish format with four chefs tasked with identifying the next superstar chef.

Judges mentor a team of cooks, hand-picked based on their dishes alone. Each episode presents participants with both team and individual challenges, with contestants eliminated at the end of each show.

ABC ordered eight episodes of “The Taste” for the U.S. in July, fronted by Anthony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson. L.A. chef Ludo Lefebvre and San Diego chef Brian Malarkey will join them on the judging panel. The show will air in 2013.
