Fox has bumped the second season of “Touch” from fall to midseason, the network announced Thursday.
The drama series was supposed to bow Oct. 26 in the 8-9 p.m. time slot. The network indicated “Touch” will return in January but a specific date and time have yet to be determined.
Midseason could be a better place for “Touch” to launch again given the likelihood that the Kiefer Sutherland drama could run uninterrupted with the promotional backing of any number of programming weapons Fox has either leading into the midseason, including NFC football games, or the January bow of “American Idol.”
Last month, Fox already made a last-minute scheduling switch for the fall, replacing new episodes of “Kitchen Nightmares” with repeats of “The X Factor.” The Gordon Ramsay series was to launch a new season on Sept. 28 but will now take over for “Touch” on Oct. 26
“Factor” was scheduled to repeat for three consecutive weeks instead of “Kitchen” from 8-9 p.m. through Oct. 12.
