Fox has renewed “The X Factor” for a third season.
Singing competish series has seen a considerable brand refresh from its initial Stateside run, adding Demi Lovato and Britney Spears to the judging panel. Last week, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez were confirmed as “X Factor” live-show hosts.
“The format changes are working,” said Mike Darnell, prexy of alternative entertainment for Fox.
“X Factor” has established itself as a reliable show for Fox this fall, even as it faces competition from other top shows, including “Modern Family” and “Survivor” in its 8-10 p.m. Wednesday timeslot. Skein, which is down from a year ago, averages 10.6 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating among adults 18-49.
