Fox launching summer dating skein

'Take Me Out' premieres June 7

Fox is launching a new unscripted series in June that will attempt to put a fresh spin on the dating genre.

From “American Idol” production company FremantleMedia North America, “Take Me Out” launches June 7 in its regular Thursday timeslot at 8 o’clock.

Based on an international format, skein features 30 single women who indicate their interest in eligible bachelors by turning the lights on their respective podiums on or off. Eventually it narrows down to the winning couple.

Jeff Apploff (“Don’t Forget the Lyrics”) serves as executive producer. Jack Martin and Kevin Williams are co-executive producers. The host of “Take Me Out” has not been finalized.

Fox previously announced its summer schedule from Monday through Wednesday, which will include the return of “So You Think You Can Dance” and three different series featuring Gordon Ramsay. The network still hasn’t announced its 9 p.m. plans for Friday or Thursday.
