Deal covers 120 territories for Jean Reno show

BERLIN

Fox Intl. Channels has picked up the Jean Reno crime drama “Jo” in a multi-territory deal with Red Arrow Intl.

Fox secured first-run pay TV rights to the series for more than 120 territories, including Latin America, Africa, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Greece, the Balkans, Bulgaria and Korea.

Created by Rene Balcer and produced by Atlantique Prods., the English-language show centers on a veteran Paris homicide detective.

“The combination of Jean Reno’s irresistible presence, Rene Balcer’s distinctive storytelling and the splendor of Paris will make this a must-watch addition to our schedules from Seoul to Santiago,” said Jason Simms, Fox Intl. Channels’ senior VP of global acquisitions.

“Jo” sold to more than 120 countries before the production even wrapped up, said Axel Boehm, Red Arrow’s director of fiction acquisition, adding that the Fox pickup “reflects the strong global appeal of the series.”

“Jo” is the first English-language series to be shot entirely on location in Paris.
