Nakajima sci-fi toon to be made in the U.S.

TOKYO — Fox International Channels is partnering with Japanese streaming site Hikari TV to produce the feature toon “Secret Children,” a sci-fi yarn about clones using real humans as cover to thwart an anti-clone law.

Helmer Hiroshi Nakajima, who shot his 2009 feature debut “Lily” in English in Los Angeles, plans to make “Secret Children” in the U.S. in English as well.

Release is skedded for the summer of 2013. Cast and theatrical distrib have yet to be decided.

Hikari TV plans to present the toonpic as a premium offering to its 2 million subscribers.

Both FIC and Hikari recently launched new services: Fox 238, which offers U.S. dramas and pics, as well as such popular Fox shows as “American Idol,” and Hikari and Disney’s Dlife, which streams Disney pics and shows.
