Fox clocks in with ‘Midnighters’ for TV

Chris Fedak, Josh Schwartz to adapt Scott Westerfeld book series for small screen

“Chuck” co-creators Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz are bringing to Fox a small-screen adaptation of Scott Westerfeld’s “Midnighters” book series.

Hourlong drama centers on a group of people born at the stroke of midnight who all have access to the 25th hour of the day.

Fox has given a script order to “Midnighters,” with Fedak serving as scribe and exec producer.

Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment will produce in association with Warner Bros. TV. In addition to Fedak, Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo will exec produce.
