FEARnet acquires ‘Tales From the Crypt’

All original 93 episodes will air on cabler's linear, VOD platforms

FEARnet has acquired the HBO horror anthology “Tales From the Crypt.”

“Crypt,” which originally ran on the pay cabler from 1989-96, will launch Oct. 5 in a two-hour programming block at 10 p.m. ET, and then replayed on Mondays. The 93 episodes will play in order and will also be available on the net’s video on demand platform.

“I knew that this series was the perfect vehicle to complement our programming and, although it took us two years to acquire it, it was well worth the wait,” said FEARnet topper Peter Block.

Among those who exec produced the series include Joel Silver, Richard Donner, Robert Zemeckis, Walter Hill and David Giler.

FEARnet is owned by Sony Pictures Television, Lionsgate and Comcast.
