U.S. Spanish-language network Estrella TV is launching a worldwide distribution division with Andy Weir as topper.
As TV senior veep of content distribution, Weir will handle a library of more than 6,000 hours of original programming in the global market and also offer original formats based on series brands. Previously, Weir worked as co-prexy and owner of Northstar Media. Launched in 2010, Estrella TV has a variety of programming including comedy, drama, game shows and yakkers. Estrella is owned by Liberman Broadcasting, one of the largest Spanish-language broadcasters in the U.S. Company also owns 21 radio stations and nine local TV stations.
