‘ER’ ready for global adaptation

Warner Bros. unveiling drama hit as format at MipTV

Longtime NBC hit “ER” is poised to be adapted internationally, with Warner Bros. International Television Prods. making the drama available is a global format.

Rights to air the original 331 episodes of “ER” have previously been sold to more than 50 countries in English-language and dubbed versions. Countries will be able to pursue their own adaptations of the drama, which boasts Michael Crichton, Steven Spielberg and John Wells among its shepherds, at MipTV next week.

” ‘ER’ is one of the most successful, long-running, highly rated and recognizable television programs ever created and remains in syndication around the world, so we are confident that a wide variety of territories will want to produce their own local version of the show,” said WBITVP senior veep of creative format development and sales Andrew Zein.
