'50 Foot Cheerleader,' toon docu on Monty Pythoner on slate

Epix’s upcoming slate of original programs includes a 3D pic from Roger Corman and an animated docu on the late Monty Pythoner Graham Chapman.

“Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader” marks Corman’s first foray into 3D. Pic will be helmed by vfx artist Kevin O’Neill and will star Jena Sims, Sean Young and Treat Williams. Movie will premiere in August.

“A Liar’s Autobiography — The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman” bows in November. The 3D animated biopic blends 1982 recordings of Chapman and the work of 15 different animators.

New docus will include “William Shatner’s Get a Life!,” set for July, and “Flight 800: A 14-Year Investigation Cracks the Case,” preeming in September. Based on the thesp’s book, Shatner film will explore “Star Trek” fandom. Latter takes a look at the cover-up of details surrounding crash of TWA Flight 800.

Other special events for the channel will be the standup comedy special “Jim Norton: Please Be Offended,” preeming in June.

Epix is a joint venture of Paramount Pictures, MGM and Lionsgate.
