eOne sells ‘Peppa Pig’ across Asia

'Little Kingdom,' 'Tractor Tom,' 'Humf' also collect sales

LONDON — eOne Family has sold British pre-school toon skein “Peppa Pig” to broadcasters in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand, extending the shows audience reach across Asia.

Taiwanese broadcaster Eastern Broadcasting Corporation bought rights for its children’s pay TV channel Yo Yo, as well as DVD distribution rights in the market. eOne Family has also sold “Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom” to local free-to-air broadcaster PTS.

In Hong Kong terrestrial channel TVB acquired both shows to start airing immediately. Local home entertainment distributor Deltamac will handle the titles on DVD with first releases timed for Christmas. Singapore’s Mediacorp picked up rights for these, and another pre-school skein, “Tractor Tom,” for its free TV channel Okto to air from the fall; while Thailand’s Cineplex acquired “Peppa Pig,” “Tractor Tom” and “Humf” to air immediately.
