Feature scribes to develop new projects for studio

Feature scribes Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins have inked a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios.

The pair will focus on new projects for the studio, where they have developed scripts for the past two years. The plan is to focus on half-hours but they’re open to the drama side too.

“We’ve had a good relationship with everyone at ABC Studios. We’re excited to make it official,” said Halpern. “They put a ring on it,” quipped Haskins.

Halpern and Haskins have also fielded several feature scripts in recent years, including the high school comedy “Book Smart,” optioned by 20th Century Fox, “Lunch Lady” for Universal and “Work Wife” for New Line.

Halpern got her start as a scribe on the staff of ABC’s “Private Practice” and CBS’ “The Unit.” Haskins was a scribe and performer on the Current TV skeins “SuperNews” and “Infomania.”

Halpern is with WME, Haskins with UTA. The pair are also repped by Circle of Confusion and Sloane Offer.
