‘Echo Chamber’ in development at HBO

British intelligence officer infiltrates IRA in miniseries

HBO is in development on the miniseries “Echo Chamber.”

Logline for the project has “Donnie Brasco”-like qualities. Set in 1980s against the backdrop of the troubles in Northern Ireland, “Echo Chamber” centers on a British soldier who is sent undercover in the Irish Republican Army by British intelligence. As his cover deepens, he rises through the ranks of the IRA and faces betrayal, trauma and possible death with every dramatic turn of events.

“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” helmer Rupert Wyatt is writing an original script and is also attached to direct. Alan Moloney (“Albert Hobbs,” “Haywire”) is set to produce with Sky Atlantic on board as a co-producer.

Mini is being planned to air as three 90-minute telecasts. Casting is not yet underway.
