Disney Channels Worldwide ups Cocchia

Guerini also promoted at Radio Disney

Disney Channels Worldwide has promoted Sean Cocchia to senior veep of business operations and general manager.

Cocchia had been senior veep and g.m. of Radio Disney. He will be succeeded in that role by Phil Guerini.

With Disney since 1998, Cocchia will work with Disney Channels Worldwide prexy and chief creative officer Gary Marsh on strategic direction and optimizing operations for the Disney kids and families brands across platforms including Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior and Radio Disney.

Cocchia will also oversee interactions with other Disney branches including Walt Disney International and Disney/ABC TV’s franchise management group. From 2009-10, he was senior veep of business planning and development.

“Sean and I have worked together for years,” Marsh said, “and it’s always been clear that our team benefits greatly from his extensive knowledge of our business and his strategic approach to building on our success in the marketplace.”

Guerini had been marketing veep for Radio Disney, since October 2008 and has been with Disney since 1992, working in branches including Walt Disney Records, where he was exec director of broadcasting and strategic marketing, and Disney Parks & Resorts.

“Phil is held in high esteem throughout our business and has a strong track record of driving growth through innovation,” Cocchia said.
