Exec ascends to larger role in worldwide programming

Disney Channels Worldwide has promoted Karen K. Miller to exec director of worldwide programming strategy for acquisitions and co-productions.

Miller will direct development of overall scheduling strategies that synchronize regional and global priorities. She also oversees worldwide acquisitions for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior, and oversees co-production opportunities.

Miller joined Disney Channel in 2011 as director of acquisitions and co-productions. Previously, she worked for Atlantyca Entertainment and spent 18 years at Warner Bros.

“Karen is a true programmer and global partner, with a great eye for content and a drive for strategy,” said Disney Channels Worldwide senior veep of programming, scheduling, multiplatform, acquisitions and co-productions Paul DeBenedittis, to whom Miller will report.
