Disney Channels Worldwide has promoted Richard Loomis to the newly created position of senior veep and chief marketing officer.
Loomis will guide the creative marketing vision for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior, while also overseeing creative marketing support for the media sales and marketing team. Disney’s cable networks have showed continued ratings growth in recent years.
He joined Disney in 2007 and most recently was senior VP of marketing and creative.
“Richard has played a pivotal role in branding the creative expressions of Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior across the globe,” said Disney Channels Worldwide prexy and chief creative officer Gary Marsh, to whom Loomis reports.
“Along the way, he has built a matrix of successful partnerships. This is a well-earned acknowledgement of not only the contributions he’s made to our TV and radio platforms, but the expanding responsibilities he’s now taking on.”
His previous experience includes a 2000-06 stint at Comedy Central that culminated in serving as senior veep of marketing and brand strategy. His prior seven years were at Nickelodeon, finishing there as marketing and advertising veep.
