‘Dish Nation’ gaining coverage

Pop culture series cleared in 55% of country for fall

Twentieth Television’s “Dish Nation” has been cleared in 55% of the country, the company said Monday. The pop culture series, which has sold to Fox Television, Tribune, Lin, and Local TV affiliates, is set to debut in September on stations in nine of the top 10 markets.

Series is a comedy news program that follows pop culture rather than politics; celebrity gossip, entertainment news and reality TV will be among its subjects. The series had a six-week preview on some Fox Television stations, hosted by radio teams including WPLJ’s Scott Shannon and Todd Pettingill from New York, and Atlanta’s Rickey Smiley, whose show is local to WHTA and syndicated in 60 markets.
