'Dexter's' Daniel Cerone looks for 'Motive'
TORONTO — CTV has greenlit the 13-part procedural drama “Motive” (working title), executive produced by Peabody-winning Daniel Cerone (“Dexter”), Canada’s largest and leading caster announced Thursday as part of its 2012-13 season upfront presentation.
Produced by Vancouver-based Foundation Features and Lark Productions, the one-hour drama follows a female Vancouver homicide detective and her team, with each episode opening by revealing the killer’s identity. The show, not yet in production, is scheduled to bow mid-season. Canada-born Cerone penned the pilot for “Motive,” which is developed for TV by co-exec producers Rob Merilees, Rob LaBelle, Lindsay Macadam, Louise Clark (“Corner Gas”) and Erin Haskett.
