Russian net focuses on femme adult aud

MOSCOW — Russia’s biggest commercial television network CTC has reshuffled three top managers as it positions itself to take a bigger slice of the key female audience.

Natalia Bilan, head of CTC’s Domashny daytime channel — which targets women between 25 and 45 — will head up in-house production arm Story First Prods..

Bilan will be responsible for bolstering production, creating new genre and format content for the group’s channels, CTC, Domashny and Peretz, as well as attracting new talent.

Domashny program director Natalia Korotkova moves up to head the channel, charged with increasing its audience share, primarily through growing the core audience, females 25-45, as well as boosting its financial results, CTC said Tuesday.

Domashny, launched in 2005, combines popular Russian and international shows and movies, including Russian-dubbed Hollywood series such as “Desperate Housewives” and “Cougar Town.”

Vasily Balashov, who has headed Story First since its launch in July 2011, becomes deputy head of CTC Channel and its chief operating officer. All appointments take effect Oct. 15.

CTC Media CEO Boris Podolsky said, “We are strengthening the management teams of CTC Media’s key priority segments and businesses.”
