Comedian will play abrasive satellite radio host
Dane Cook has been cast for the lead of the NBC pilot “Next Caller Please.”
Singlecam comedy, from Universal Television and Lionsgate, also stars Collette Wolfe as a Colorado radio personality who moves to New York to co-host a satellite radio show. Cook will play Wolfe’s sexist and abrasive co-host. Joy Osmanski also stars.
Pilot was written by Stephen Falk, who also exec produces. Marc Buckland directs.
Cook has been a major attraction on the stand-up circuit, playing such venues as Madison Square Garden and the Boston Garden, but has focused on his film career as of late. He has starred in several indie films over the last few years.
