Target, Minotaur grapple with insolvency threat
LONDON — Indie distrib Content Media Corp. has struck an exclusive deal with the insolvency administrators of Target Entertainment to handle its catalog, kicking off at television mart Mip TV next month.
The move follows Target going into administration, the U.K. equivalent to Chapter 11, after owners Metrodome failed to find a buyer for Target and its subsidiary Minotaur International.
In a statement, Content prexy Greg Phillips said: “We are well known to many of the companies’ producers and look forward to the opportunity to introduce our experienced distribution capabilities to many others.
“Our role is to help producers transition the ongoing distribution from the companies to Content as quickly and efficiently as possible and to then look to maximise the ongoing cash flow from that distribution. ”
Content has its h.q. in London, with offices in Los Angeles and Toronto.
Distributor operates across drama, TV movies, miniseries, kids, factual entertainment, documentaries and other non-fiction programming with a library of more than 3,400 hours.
