Comedy Central India, in business for a year now, has acquired exclusive rights to “Anger Management” in a pact with Lionsgate Intl. Television, the two companies said Thursday.
The series debuted to an impressive 5.74 million viewers in the U.S. and subsequently received an unusual 90-episode commitment. Lionsgate Intl. Television has already sold the series in more than a dozen territories, including Canada, Latin America, the U.K., Scandinavia, Australia/New Zealand, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Spain and South Africa. Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury distributes the show in the U.S., where it’s been sold into syndication with the Fox station group. Skein, starring Charlie Sheen, is based on the 2003 film.
