'Inside Man' to bow in April as part of weekend docu-series block

Docu-maven Morgan Spurlock is returning to TV as host of CNN’s new original skein “Inside Man.”

Weekend program will delve into American subcultures, highlighting the lives of gun lovers, pot growers and end-of-life caregivers, among others. Spurlock and his shingle Warrior Poets will produce the docuseries. Skein, which marks the all-news cabler’s second nonfiction original series, will air alongside its new Anthony Bourdain-hosted hour.

“Like Anthony Bourdain’s new CNN series,” said Mark Whitaker, CNN Worldwide exec veep and managing editor, “‘Inside Man’ will carry the distinctive stamp of its host while taking viewers on colorful and informative journeys into fascinating corners of American society.”

Spurlock initially rose to fame with his health-centric doc “Super Size Me.”

“Inside Man” is slated to debut in April.
