LONDON — U.K. terrestrial web Channel 5 has nabbed exclusive domestic rights to “Person of Interest,” a thriller exec produced by “Lost” creator J.J. Abrams.
The 22-episode first season tracks a former CIA agent, presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to stop violent crimes before they happen.
The show has been renewed by CBS for a second season and will return this fall.
“Person of Interest” was created by Jonathan Nolan. Aside from Abrams, other execs producers on the show are Nolan, Greg Plageman and Bryan Burk.
It is produced by Bonanza Productions in association with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
The distributor is Warner Bros. Intl. Television Distribution.
Channel 5 acquisitions topper Katie Keenan described the skein as “a classic dark mix of cops, corruption and crime.”
