NBC's 'The Voice' is No. 1 show in 18-49 demo

The power of the “NCIS” franchise gave CBS a narrow win over NBC in the Tuesday night ratings race.

Though NBC’s “The Voice” was No. 1 in the 18-49 demo with a 3.3 rating/10 share and 9.3 million overall viewers, according to early estimates from Nielsen, the one-two punch of “NCIS” (3.0/9) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (2.8/8) was too much for the Peacock to overcome.

“NCIS,” in fact, was the most-watched show Tuesday with 16.4 million viewers, followed closely by the 15 million who watched “NCIS: LA.”

CBS, in fact, dominated the evening in total viewers. At 10 p.m., Dennis Quaid-Michael Chiklis starrer “Vegas” (1.8/5) drew 10.2 million viewers.

“Go On” leadout “The New Normal” (1.6/4, 4.3) was off slightly at 9:30 p.m. and “Parenthood” (1.6/5, 4.5m) also took a hit from a week ago.

Though NBC saw some regression, the Peacock defeated everything from ABC and Fox in all timeslots. Best for ABC was the “Dancing With the Stars” results telecast, which drew a 1.9/6, 12.8m, which was about even from last week. Sitcoms “Happy Endings” (1.2/3, 4.8m) and “Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23″ (0.9/3, 3.1m) were down and both hit series lows.

“Private Practice,” which is set to end its run in January, saw slight improvement with a 1.2/3, 4.1m.

Fox saw decreases across the board across its two-hour comedy lineup, except for 8:30 entry “Ben & Kate” (1.1/3, 2.5m), which was flat. Down were “Raising Hope” (1.5/5, 3.6m), “New Girl” (2.0/5, 4m) and “The Mindy Project” (1.3/4, 2.6m), which saw significant erosion from a week ago.
