CBS sets Feb. 8 for ‘The Job’

Reality series will receive plenty of promotion on Super Bowl

CBS has set Feb. 8 as the premiere date for its new unscripted series “The Job.”

From reality gurus Michael Davies, Mark Burnett and Sony Television, the series gives contestants a chance to win jobs at some of the top companies in the country. Lisa Ling will host.

The date is significant in that it comes only five days after the CBS-televised Super Bowl. The Eye, which will likely draw more than 100 million viewers for the big game, will heavily promote both “The Job” and the Grammy Awards, which arrive a week later on Feb. 10.

“The Job” replaces “Undercover Boss” on the Friday schedule for CBS. “Boss,” which premiered in the plum post-Super Bowl slot when CBS aired the game in 2010, returns to the net April 19.
