College games migrate networks

CBS Sports has sublet a portion of ESPN’s rights to a number of college basketball games in a multiyear agreement that begins this fall.

With the deal, games from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 Conference and Pacific 12 Conference will go to CBS from ESPN — a total of 20 in 2012-13 and then 26 in ensuing years, when the number of ACC games rises from six to 12.

In addition, CBS Sports will broadcast the Missouri Valley Conference championship game for the length of the agreement and the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship game in 2013.

CBS has rights deals of its own with three other major college conferences: the Big East, Big Ten and Southeastern.
