Angelica McDaniel tapped to succeed Barbara Bloom
CBS has promoted Angelica McDaniel to senior veep of daytime, filling the vacancy left by Barbara Bloom’s departure from the Eye last year.
McDaniel will oversee all daytime programming, including soaps “The Young and the Restless” and “Bold and the Beautiful,” gameshows “The Price Is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal” and yakker “The Talk.” McDaniel has been overseeing day-to-day creative affairs for “The Talk” since joining the Eye in August 2010. She reports to CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler.
“Angelica has made invaluable contributions to the launch and success of ‘The Talk,’ ” said Tassler. “Her strategic and creative vision and understanding of the daytime landscape will continue to move CBS Daytime in the right direction as this successful and profitable day part continues to evolve.”
Before CBS, McDaniel was a creative exec at Telepictures Prods., working on “The Tyra Banks Show” and other syndie skeins.
Bloom exited the Eye in early 2011 after an eight-year run.
