BERLIN — CBS has commissioned ITV Studios to produce a pilot of entertainment format “The Audience.”In the show a troubled participant, who is at a crossroad in their life, opens up to 50 people, who offer counsel to get them back on the right track. Gallic broadcaster TF1 has commissioned a series of the show, which was developed by London-based The Garden Prods. The program also sold to RTL 4 in the Netherlands. ITV Studios is also producing a U.K. version of the German format “My Man Can” for ITV1, and has optioned the show in France and Australia. The hit Sat.1 format, sold internationally by SevenOne Intl., will air in primetime in the U.K. next year. Produced by Redseven Ent., “My Man Can” invites four women to gamble with the abilities of their partners, putting the men’s courage and skills to the test. If the woman claims her man can complete an obstacle course wearing high heels, he has to do so in order for her to win the jackpot. The show has already sold to some 40 countries, including Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Lithuania, South Korea and China, where it aired on Jiang Su Satellite Channel, becoming the most successful foreign entertainment adaptation in China in 2010.
