CBS makes early comedy pilot order

'Ex-Men' intended for 2013-14 season

CBS is getting an early jump on development for the 2013-14 season, ordering a single-camera comedy pilot from the Tannenbaum Co. in association with CBS TV Studios.

“Ex-Men” is about a young guy who finds camaraderie living among the more experienced guys he meets in a short-term rental complex. Rob Greenberg (“How I Met Your Mother”) will write and direct as well as executive produce with Eric and Kim Tanenbaum.

While it’s not unprecedented, it is rare for broadcasters to order a script let alone a pilot this early before the traditional development cycle.

“Ex-Men” was first put in development at CBS back in 2007 but was passed on only to rolled over the following year but fail to make the cut again.
