Brit comedy vets will write and exec produce dad project

CBS has inked a script deal with Brit comedy vets Steve Coogan and Simon Nye for an untitled project.

Laffer from CBS TV Studios will center on three dads with children from the same mother. Coogan, a Brit comedian and thesp, and Nye, a U.K. comedy writer, will pen and exec produce the project. Michael Rotenberg will also exec produce.

Project marks Coogan and Nye’s first time penning a pilot for a U.S. network.

Coogan has appeared in films including “The Trip,” “Tropic Thunder,” and this year’s “Ruby Sparks.” Nye created U.K. series “Men Behaving Badly” and penned numerous Brit laffers.
