Peacock works with MLB on series that examines weekend games

NBC Sports Group is taking to the baseball diamond with “Caught Looking.”

To be aired bi-weekly, hourlong series will launch at 9 p.m. Aug. 15 and run through Oct. 4.

“Caught Looking” will examine a weekend Major League Baseball series, offering insight into the players, coaches and front office staff of both teams.

“We’re pleased to be working with NBC Sports Group on this project, which will provide a unique glimpse inside the inner workings of multiple clubs during the stretch run,” said Chris Tully, senior VP of broadcasting for MLB.

Move could be interpreted as a way for NBC Sports Group to get in the good graces with baseball execs. Fox’s TV deal with MLB concludes at the end of next season, and NBC Sports Group will likely make an attractive offer to take over the package.

Peacock’s goal is to bring as many live programming events as possible to NBC Sports Network so that it can become a destination for sports fans.
