‘Cash Cab’ drives to China

All3Media Intl. links with Southern TV China for a local version

BEIJING — Blighty-based production and distribution giant All3Media Intl. has linked up with Southern TV China to bring a locally produced version of the “Cash Cab” game show format to Chinese auds for the first time.

Southern TV (TVS) is producing 65 episodes in Guangdong province in both Mandarin and Cantonese, with All3Media’s Intl.’s Lucy Heaven acting as in-house production consultant for the show, which was originally produced by Lion TV in the UK.

The series will bow on TVS’ Entertainment Channel as “Kuaile yaoqing Cash Cab” this year. The deal was facilitated by Beijing-based media consultancy CMM-I.

“Cash Cab” has played in over 50 regions as a local format, on every continent. An English-language version of the show played pan-Asia on AXN.
