CW moves '90210' to 9 p.m.
The CW has scheduled the series premiere of midseason entry “The Carrie Diaries” for Jan. 14, the network announced Thursday.
“Diaries,” which reimagines the protagonist of “Sex and the City” as a teenager during the 1980s, will take over the Monday 8 p.m. hour from “90210,” which will slide to 9 p.m.
The CW has been saving primetime’s opening hour for its top series, including “The Vampire Diaries” and “Arrow,” which have had better luck than its entries in the more competitive 9 p.m. slot.
“Diaries” is from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Fake Empire. Executive producers are Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein, Amy B. Harris and Candace Bushnell.
