Cablevision promotes Tom Montemagno

Exec named executive VP of programming

Cablevision upped Tom Montemagno to exec VP of programming on Wednesday.

The 23-year veteran of the New York-area cabler was formerly VP for programming acquisitions, overseeing negotiations with content providers, an arena that’s become increasingly turbulent in recent months.

Montemagno will report to Cablevision CEO James Dolan, who praised “his ability to work with programmers to reach the increasingly complicated agreements that continue to shape and define our core video product.”

Cablevision’s former programming exec VP, Mac Budill, left last month to become NBCUniversal TV’s distribution prexy.
