Ellen Burstyn is the latest thesp to join the cast of USA Network’s “Political Animals.”
She will play the mother of Sigourney Weaver, a divorced former first lady and newly appointed secretary of state who throws herself into her job when her marriage falls apart and a presidential bid comes up short. Set to air this summer, the six-episode project from Greg Berlanti and Warner Horizon Television may become a full-fledged series. Production is set to begin later this month.
