‘Breaking Bad’ returns July 15

AMC also sets return date for 'Hell of Wheels'

The last season of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” will premiere July 15. The 16-episode season will play in two parts, with the final eight episodes beginning in summer 2013.

Sony Pictures Television series, from creator and exec producer Vince Gilligan, has been an awards magnet for its cast, with Bryan Cranston taking home three consecutive Emmys (2008-10) and supporting actor Aaron Paul also winning.

Show is currently filming in Albuquerque, N.M.

Immediately following the 10 p.m. season premiere of “Breaking Bad,” new reality series “Small Town Security,” about a family-owned private security company in Georgia, will debut. Net will air eight episodes. Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver exec produce.

Cabler also announced that Western “Hell of Wheels” will return Aug. 12 for a 10-episode second season. Anson Mount stars in the drama about the building of the transcontinental railroad.

Exec producers for the Endemol- and Entertainment One-produced skein are John Shiban, Joe Gayton, Tony Gayton and Jeremy Gold.
