Joshua Brand and John Falsey will receive the Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television at the Writers Guild of America Awards on Feb. 17.
Brand and Falsey co-created series including “Northern Exposure,” “St. Elsewhere” and “I’ll Fly Away.” “Defined by an expert blend of sharp observation, dry wit, and honest emotion, their work is, like a singer with a five-octave range, breathtaking in its scope and its power,” said WGAW prexy Christopher Keyser. The pair began as story editors for “The White Shadow,” writing more than a dozen episodes. Currently, Brand is serving as a consultant on upcoming FX series “The Americans,” and writing a one-hour FX pilot, “Lords of the Sunset Strip.”Brand, Falsey earn WGA Chayefsky honor
