The second season of Kelsey Grammer starrer “Boss” is set to premiere Aug. 17.
The Starz original series, from producer Lionsgate, is toplined by the former “Frasier” star as the corrupt mayor of Chicago who is trying to balance politics, a tumultuous family life and a devastating medical condition.
Skein is exec produced by Grammer, creator Farhad Safinia, Gus Van Sant, Brian Sher and Stella Bulochniko.
The first season, which ended in December, wasn’t a particularly strong ratings draw, but Starz topper Chris Albrecht greenlit a second season before the first began to show confidence in the series.
Co-stars include Connie Nielsen, Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner, Kathleen Robertson and Troy Garity. Joining for season two are Jonathan Groff and Sanaa Lathan.
