Big CBS to bow in Sri Lanka

Trio of channels will air CBS content

MUMBAI — Big CBS Networks, a joint venture between CBS Studios Intl. and India’s Reliance Broadcast Network, is bowing in Sri Lanka.

Its channel bouquet — Big CBS Prime, Big CBS Love and Big CBS Spark — will initially target English-speaking viewers age 15-plus but may later be dubbed into local languages.

The trio will be available on cable platforms and key hotels via the Lanka broadband network. Content will include “Hawaii Five-0,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “NCIS,” “Survivor,” “90210,” “Frasier,” “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

CBS Network plans to launch across all platforms in the South Asia Assn. of Regional Cooperation countries — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
