'Satisfaction,' 'Spun Out' hail from top Canuck sitcom scribes

TORONTO – Bell Media-owned CTV network has greenlit two comedy pilots, “Satisfaction” and “Spun Out,” from top comedy scribes.

“Satisfaction,” a twenty-something household ensemble comedy, is scripted by showrunner Tim McAuliffe (“Up All Night,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”), produced by Halifax-based DHX Media and exec-produced by Michael Donovan (“Bowling for Columbine”).

“Spun Out” is a multi-camera PR office comedy from Toronto’s Project 10 Prods., co-created by writers Jeff Biederman (“Life with Derek”) and Brent Piaskoski (“According to Jim”) and director Brain K. Roberts (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) and exec-produced by Andrew Barnsley (“Hotbox”).

Both pilots shoot in Toronto this fall.

Bizzers in L.A. are paying more attention to Canuck development these days as the volume of Canadian imports on U.S. airwaves increases.

Bell Media-owned Comedy Network also announced Thursday it will broadcast 13 hours of new star-studded comedy from the 30th anniversary season of Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, including the highly anticipated “The Muppets All-Star Comedy Gala.”
