BBC Worldwide’s ‘Sinbad’ set for Syfy

12-parter already successful overseas

Syfy has acquired “Sinbad” from BBC Worldwide America and aims to bow the 12-part adventure-fantasy series in April.

Fresh take on the Sinbad tale features newcomer Elliot Knight in the lead role, with Naveen Andrews playing Sinbad’s enemy, Lord Akbari.

Matt Forde, BBC Worldwide America’s exec veep of sales and co-productions, described Syfy as “the perfect home” in America for “Sinbad” after the skein saw notable success overseas.

“Sinbad” is an Impossible Pictures production for BSkyB in association with BBC Worldwide.
