Angela Bassett and Julian McMahon are close to signing on for the untitled Karyn Usher drama pilot at Fox.
Pilot stars Saxon Sharbino as the orphaned 14-year-old daughter of a CIA operative who encounters a mysterious rogue agent who serves as both her surrogate father and professional mentor in the spy world. McMahon (“Nip/Tuck”) will play the rogue agent while Bassett (“ER”) will play the director of the CIA. The pilot is from Laps/Adelstein in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Usher (“Bones”) is the writer; Brett Ratner is the director; Usher, Ratner, Marty Adelstein, Shawn Levy, Becky Clements are executive producers.
