Scher has been with medical-themed talkshow since 2008

Andrew Scher has been upped from co-exec producer to executive producer on syndie daytime show “The Doctors.”

A spinoff from “Dr. Phil,” the med-themed yakker features real-life docs answering health questions from viewers. CBS TV Distribution handles the skein, and Scher has been with the program since its inception in 2008.

“We are elevating Andrew’s title in recognition of the significant contribution he has made to the success of ‘The Doctors’ through four seasons,” said Jay McGraw, series creator and son of Dr. Phil McGraw. Scher joins an exec producer team including Phil and Jay McGraw and Carla Pennington.

Jay McGraw continued: “We will continue to rely on Andrew’s creative insight in helping to elevate and preserve ‘The Doctors’ status as a standard-bearer of reliable health and wellness information.”

Scher’s daytime credits include “The Montel Williams Show,” “The Ricki Lake Show” and “The Queen Latifah Show.”
