Al Jazeera English bows Viewfinder: Asia

Doc support project enlists Asian Network of Documentary

Al Jazeera English has joined forces with the Asian Network of Documentary for a doc support project called Viewfinder: Asia.

AJE founded Viewfinder in 2011, teaming up with a local film institution on every continent in hopes of discovering and showcasing new docu talent and films. Viewfinder: Asia will be the second in the series, following AJE’s partnership with Uruguay’s Doc Montevideo for Viewfinder: Latin America.

The project will put selected directors through a weeklong training process in Busan, South Korea, in which works chosen by AJE will be commissioned to be aired on the net.

Deadline for applications via Ajeviewfinder.com is Aug. 3.
