Fox's cooking combo runs second to NBA Finals

The NBA Finals continue to perform very well for ABC, with Game 4 on Tuesday dominating the night and the series continuing to track as the highest-rated in eight years. Fox ran second with its cooking combo of ”Hell’s Kitchen” and ”MasterChef.”

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, the Miami Heat’s victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday averaged a 6.0 rating/17 share in adults 18-49 and 13.9 million viewers overall on the ABC stations from 9 to 11 p.m., with these numbers expected to rise by more than 10% in the nationals. A year ago, Game 4 between the Heat and Dallas Mavericks finished with a 6.7/19 in the demo and 16.1 million viewers.

NBC went with ”America’s Got Talent” encores at both 8 (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) and 9 (1.8/5 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall), followed by an original ”Love in the Wild” (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) , with the latter maintaining its 4 share despite a weaker lead-in.

CBS aired repeats of ”NCIS” (1.3/4 in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall), ”NCIS: Los Angeles” (1.2/3 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) and ”48 Hours Mystery” (1.1/3 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall).

At CW, ”The Catalina” edged up (0.4/1 in 18-49, 1.0 million viewers overall), with its best scores coming among females 12-34 (0.5/2).

Preliminary 18-49 estimates for the night: ABC, 4.9/14; Fox, 2.1/6; NBC, 1.5/4; Univision, 1.3/4; CBS, 1.2/4; CW, 0.3/1.

In total viewers: ABC, 11.6 million; CBS, 7.1 million; NBC, 5.9 million; Fox, 5.2 million; Univision, 3.4 million; CW, 0.8 million.
