Andrew Kubitz tapped in wake of Jeff Bader's move to NBC

ABC has recruited CBS veteran Andrew Kubitz as its new head of scheduling.

As exec veep of program planning and scheduling, Kubitz fills the shoes of Jeff Bader, who exited ABC earlier this month after 24 years to become NBC’s skedding topper. Kubitz reports to ABC Entertainment Group prexy Paul Lee.

“Andy’s appointment brings a fresh perspective and a strategic sensibility to our planning and scheduling efforts, joining a team that is second to none in our industry,” said Lee. “Together, I’m confident they will help us take ABC to a whole new level.”

Kubitz is a 17-year Eye veteran who was most recently promoted to senior veep of program planning and skedding in November 2010.

In making the move to ABC, Kubitz praised “the network’s amazing programming and innovative approach to storytelling” and said he was eager “to participate in the creative process in an effort to better position the signature programming that so many hold near and dear to their hearts.”
